We offer a complete range of aircraft de-icing application services, spent aircraft de-icing fluid management and wastewater programs for large and small airports. We accomplish all of this by using a variety of technologies and efficient equipment systems.

As our company continues to change and grow we are seeking qualified candidates to contribute to our on-going success in the role of Equipment Operator (GRV Operators). The successful candidates will work as part of a team to provide superior service and stakeholder satisfaction through responsibility for the safe and efficient operation and preservation of equipment utilized for the purpose of tasks related to Glycol Recovery Vehicles and processing, while ensuring the well-being of self and all internal and external stakeholders.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, we will be recruiting for full-time seasonal positions which will be located at the Calgary International Airport in Calgary, Alberta. When applying to this position please indicate if you have a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and/or Airside Vehicle Operator’s permit (AVOP). Candidates with these security passes already in place will be given preference.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Abide by Health and Safety principles by using issued and available safety equipment as required by standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in the day-by-day operations of the facility;
  • Keep all inland owned or managed equipment, tools and materials in good working condition; including keeping the aforementioned clean and in their assigned storage areas when not in use;
  • Escort non security badge holding personnel in accordance with airport written escorting procedures;
  • Assist in glycol recovery operations when required;
  • Follow established guidelines for equipment operation within close proximity to airfield personnel, aircraft and other airfield equipment without interfering with aircraft movement;
  • Routinely inspect de-icing surfaces and promptly collect spent aircraft de-icing fluid (ADF) avoiding the risk of fluid escape;
  • Emulsify de-icing surfaces as directed;
  • Proper operation and maintenance of testing equipment;
  • Compliance with all environmental laws and permits;
  • Transfer of fluid to and from tankers and storage tanks;
  • Empty debris tank into storage vessels avoiding risk of overfill and ensuring that fluids are never stored in debris tank overnight;
  • Record volume, location and concentration for every load of fluid;
  • Move, connect and disconnect hoses;
  • Operate industrial valves;
  • Service vehicles with fuel as required;
  • Diligently execute any and all other job related duties assigned by management.

As the ideal candidate you possess the following qualifications:

  • The ability to hold a Transportation Security Clearance and Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC);
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company insurance standards;
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada;
  • Certificate of proficiency in radio – radio telephone operator’s restricted (Land only);
  • Valid Airside vehicle operator’s permit (AVOP);
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft and how they perform;
  • Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to read, write, speak and communicate effectively;
  • Ability to interpret documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals;
  • Ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle in inclement weather;
  • General mechanical competence and ability to effectively use hand tools;
  • Ability to maintain a positive and good-natured attitude;
  • Ability to remain calm and perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints.

Note: The compensation for this position is an hourly wage of $16.50. A shift premium may be available to those successful candidates who meet the criteria to work on PAD Management.
